ABOUT: COLLABORATION IN ACTION
A Track at Building Energy 2008
The theme of our track is Collaboration in Action. We believe that projects that intend to address whole systems require the integration of interdisciplinary thinking and experience. Therefore we believe collaborative practice is an essential foundation of sustainable practice.
We also believe that the resources of our community are insufficiently linked, both in the sharing of knowledge and experience and in the collaborative application of that experience. We intend to help identify and link our audience to each other in an attempt to begin establishing a sufficiency. We intend to reveal the character of collaborative practice, in action.
Our track intends to explore a breadth of ideas and applications that support collaborative practice in action. By example, we intend to engage each other in this exploration collaboratively. While each session will feature content presentations by experienced practitioners, other informed participants will join in conversation with our audience as we endeavor to draw rich conclusions and identify practical actions that support our discoveries.
We are prepared to generate and readily accept a balance of epiphanies and stupiphanies. All will be catalogued and accrue in our space to reveal our journey and our many conclusions.
We propose and are ready to support an area on the trade floor identified to support Collaboration in Action, with resources and activities that support our purpose. These include a resource map that helps NESEA members recognize regional relationships, a skills exchange in which NESEA members can identify potential collaborators or job employment opportunities, and facilitated activities to help those present to identify and link with others.
Our track will conclude with a session on Collaboration in Action. It will present the tenets and tools of collaborative practice and engage our audience and participants in a shared summary of the discoveries we’ve made and shared, our community linked to move forward together.
Collaboration in Action!
